Recycled version?!
The first edition of the book is available for sale as a POD, however Baldassarre and I are working to create a fully recycled book, with low environmental impact. This includes printing on recycled or sustainable papers, not treated in chlorine, and using printers that minimize the impact of book publishing on the Earth’s resources. We are also investigating a fully digital version, perhaps for the iPad, that will be offered at a lower cost.
Recommendations are welcome.
Indy Photobook Library

We are very proud to be a part of the Indy Photobook Library, a very ambitious project by Larissa Leclair. As Leclair explains on her website:
“Founded in 2010, the Indie Photobook Library seeks to showcase and preserve photography books not readily viewed by the general public. The photobooks in this collection include self-published photobooks, photobooks independently published and distributed, photography exhibition catalogs, print-on-demand photobooks, artist books, photozines, photobooks printed on newsprint, limited edition photobooks, non-English language photography books, etc.; in short, photobooks that are not collected by traditional libraries in the United States.”
Lets not forget the power of the image and the photobook as a means to communicate visions otherwise not exposed to the general public. Much of the work for a photobook begins after the shoot is over. Self-publishing and print on demand give voice and an outlet to those not ushered into the mainstream publishing industry, much like the birth of the Internet as information dissemination allowed for many voices to be heard beyond the ‘traditional’ media. It is another tool. Another avenue. And thanks to the work of Leclair there is an outlet for those photobooks that any visual anthropologist would consider a treasure on many levels. Long live the photobook!

We’re proud to announce that Cimientos has place a blurb on their website about the book. As you know, a portion of all sales will go to support the organization. Aidana and I are hoping that will be a significant amount for them in the future.
Cimientos
We had a wonderful meeting recently with Lucila at Cimientos, Fundación para la Igualdad de Oportunidades Educativas, Argentina (Foundation for Equal Opportunity Education) to show her the final book and the credit page where me mentioned Cimientos (see image below). It was after much consideration that Aidana and I decided Cimientos was the organization we’d like to support with a portion of each sale of the book. While the focus of the book is environmental in its artistic look at recycling, it is through an educated population that we can better our lives and our planet. Please help us support education and take a look at the work of Cimientos in Argentina.
